Meet one of our plenary speakers: prof. Ph.D. Nenad Judaš! He has been employed at the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Zagreb since 1995. In the scientific field, he deals with problems in the field of preparative and structural chemistry of coordination compounds and crystal engineering. In the professional field, he deals with chemistry teaching methodology. He teaches several courses at undergraduate and graduate studies in different fields of study. He was the supervisor or co-supervisor during the creation of 65 graduate theses and 14 final theses. Five times he received the prize of the PMF Brdoza student union as the best teacher of the Chemistry Department of the PMF in Zagreb. He has been involved in the popularization of chemistry for about thirty years. He has been the leader of the E-school of chemistry project since 2001, and its participant since 1996. As part of the E-School of Chemistry project, he launched the activity E-School of Chemistry Seminars for students and teachers. To date, 95 such seminars have been organized in more than 20 Croatian cities and towns. Since 1999, he has been a member of the State Commission for Chemistry Competitions, and his work has had a significant impact on raising the quality of the competition system. Since 1996, he has been regularly holding expert lectures for elementary and high school chemistry teachers at meetings of their county professional councils and state gatherings organized by AZOO. From 2005 to 2012, he was a member and president of the Expert Working Group for Chemistry at the National Center for External Evaluation of Education. He is a member of the organizing committee of international conferences on chemical education, which have been held in Split every two years since 2010. He has been a member of the committee and jury of the European competition GrandPrixChimique since 2005. He was the editor-in-chief of Priroda magazine. He has been a member of the Education Section of the Croatian Academy of Sciences since 1995 and the secretary of the Croatian Society of Natural Sciences since 2009.
