The Symposium of Chemistry Students (SiSK, cro. Simpozij studenata kemičara) is a project of the Student Section of the Croatian Chemical Society (SSHKD, cro. Studentska sekcija Hrvatskog kemijskog društva), devoted to the spirit of unity and scientific passion. This student initiative, realised under the motto "students for students", has become a traditional event that has been bringing together young researchers at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science since 2014.
Following the success of the 9th SiSK, this year’s Symposium of Chemistry Students will be once again a two-day gathering, thus providing more students with the opportunity to share their scientific research achievements through oral presentations or poster communications. In addition to being an opportunity for exchanging research experiences among students, this Symposium promotes networking among participants by providing space for discussions and new connections. The 10th Symposium of Chemistry Students will also feature round tables or panel discussions on topics relevant to chemistry students and chemists in general while promoting active discourse by encouraging the audience to ask questions that can lead the discussion in an unforeseen direction. We look forward to hearing your contributions at these round tables!
The main goal of the Symposium of Chemistry Students has always been to connect young chemistry enthusiasts from all over Croatia and abroad. Following in the footsteps of the 9th Symposium Organizing Committee, the official languages will once again be Croatian and English, and the written content will be available only in English. This expansion of language boundaries allows a greater diversity of participants to take part and makes the Symposium accessible to a wider audience.
At the heart of the organization are exclusively students. The organizational team always tries to expand further, and this year the Organizing Committee includes students from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology of the University in Zagreb, the Faculty of Sciences of the University in Novi Sad, and the Faculty of Science of The University in Copenhagen. The aim is to bring together young people from different faculties and fields of interest and to encourage collaboration among future chemists.
The Symposium of Chemistry Students is not just an academic platform; it is an opportunity to create new connections, share ideas, and foster collaboration among young scientists. Come and be a part of this community that shapes the future of chemical research and innovation.
